Sammy is an ST4 Emergency and Intensive Care Medicine trainee and a budding Resuscitationist. She is currently enjoying her maternity leave with her little monster Joshua. With a keen interest in pre-hospital care Sammy can often be found on the side of the pitch at rugby matches or knee deep in mud at Tough Mudder Events. She has a keen interest in Ergonomics and patient safety and writes a regular blog for RCEM on Human Factors.
Sammy has a unique appreciation for the NHS; after her son was born at 27 weeks, Sammy spent a very difficult 3 months with him in Intensive Care at a tertiary centre miles from home. Joshua is doing well now and continues to terrorise both of his parents, but the experience has made Sammy all the more determined to fight for the NHS.
She is also a self-confessed caffeine addict and Harry Potter super fan.
